Company History

Neshaminy Constructors, Inc. (“NCI”) was founded in 1962 on a tradition of quality workmanship that began in 1920.  From the humble beginnings of an office in the founder’s home, ten employees and a quarter million dollar volume to a multimillion-dollar enterprise today consisting of up to 200 employees with gross sales in excess of 30 million dollars annually, NCI has continually demonstrated innovation and versatility in its ability to deliver quality projects on time.

grandpopsF. Anthony Canuso, Sr., Founder and Chairman of the Board of NCI, is part of the third generation ofvito his family to be engaged in the construction field. The tradition began in 1920 when his grandfathers Francis A. Canuso, Sr. and John B. Acchione, Sr. formed the heavy construction firm of Acchione and Canuso.  Later Francis A. Canuso Sr. founded F. Anthony Canuso & Sons Inc. which constructed many major bridges in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area, most noted of which is the Henry Ave. Arch structure over the Wissahickon Creek.  This firm included Vito A. Canuso Sr. who was the father of F. Anthony Canuso, Sr.

Today F. Anthony Canuso, Sr.’s children Tony Canuso, Jr. and Joseph Canuso are continuing the legacy by helping to lead NCI into the new millennium.  Also included in the current management team are Allan Corless, Jerry Throne and Mike Paulosky, who together with the President and CEO collectively boast over 130 years of combined experience at NCI.  This wealth of experience, along with its marketing focus, provides NCI the unique ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability to many simple and complex job challenges and project requirements, while always emphasizing quality workmanship and owner satisfaction.

Neshaminy Contructors, Inc., while specializing in heavy structural construction, also has significant experience in many diverse construction related projects.  These projects include train and subway stations, elevated transit structures, grade school gymnasiums, site work, bridges, foundation and retaining systems including pile driving, precast parking garages, other concrete structures underground and above ground storage tanks, several non-profit improvements projects and design build projects.  Recent customers include the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority (“SEPTA”), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (“PADOT”), National Railroad Passenger Corporation (“Amtrak”), New Jersey Department of Transportation (“NJDOT”), State of New Jersey, Department of Property and Management Construction, The City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, New Jersey Turnpike Commission and Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.
